What I've Been Doing This Week
September 9, 2011
Sorry I've been a little absent from the blogosphere this week. After the Labor Day weekend and just trying to get back on track this week, the creative juices just haven't wanted to get flowing. Here's what I've been doing...
1. Picking tomatoes.
2. Eating tomatoes.
3. Making salsa.
4. Eating salsa.
5. Roasting tomatoes.
6. Making roasted tomato pizza.
7. Nursing a tiny bit of heartburn from all the tomato intake.
8. Scrubbing my arms with dish soap because the tomato vines always leave a weird, oily, green, dirty residue on me that won't come off with my normal washing techniques.
9. Contemplating going to the courthouse and officially changing my name to Crazy Tomato Lady.
10. Thinking about how I need to plant more tomatoes next year and build them a heavy duty cage system.
11. Making an appointment to actually get my name changed to Crazy Tomato Lady.
12. Finalizing the details for Little Blue Eyes' pre-school situation. We had to make a few changes. The school he was originally going to go to didn't have bussing that would work for us, so we're going with a different school, but he's on the waiting list. However, he's the first one on the list, so he shouldn't have to wait long.
13. Wandering around singing Sunrise Sunset, while eating tomatoes, while pondering how my little boy got to be school age so quickly.
14. Putting down the toilet seat, because my school age boy decided that it's time for him to start standing up to pee.
15. Convincing Mr. Blue Eyes to help me with some furniture rearranging. I've been feeling all rearrangey. And organizey. That's my m.o. If I really want to get some good cleaning/organizing done, I first need to rearrange a little. Instead of 'spring cleaning', it's 'fall cleaning' around here.
16. Being utterly confused about how to dress for our weather... The evenings are wonderfully cool and the days are perfectly warm. It's lovely. Lovely, lovely, lovely. But confusing when it comes to wardrobe choices.
17. Planning the music for our church service this Sunday.
18. Building a small deck with Mr. Blue Eyes.
19. Thinking about baby names. No, I'm not pregnant. I just always think about baby names. And if you're a woman of child-bearing age who has any interest in having children, you have to admit that you do too.
20. Having a mild heart attack when I thought my father-in-law had been crushed by a large tree that had fallen on the tractor he was driving. He wasn't. He's fine. I still have a heart palpitation when I think about it, but other than that, I'm fine too.
21. Missing The Cheech. She went back home to live with my mom. Her absence has rocked our world. I have to pick up crumbs from underneath the high chair myself now. It's very unpleasant.
So I guess I've been a little bit busy. No wonder I haven't had the time or inclination to write! When I get into a cleaning/organizing/doing/getting-things-done mode, I figure I'd better go with it before the moment passes.
What about you? What's going on your world?

Life does sound so full for you. Glad you are getting "tomatoed". You'll want to remember this in the depths of bitter winter.
It's comin' ya know.
Don't remind me!
(I'm trying to pretend otherwise.)
