Thirty-One Days of Thankful: Sick Days

We're sick.

Nasty virus sick.

I haven't even had the energy to take a shower for about three days.

I feel pretty.

Oh, so pretty.

Pretty, and witty, and...

Not.

There is only one good thing about sick days... The togetherness. Our sick days are about the only time we actually just relax around the house together, and somehow this makes it almost enjoyable.

Well, maybe not enjoyable.

But bearable. And somewhat special.

This especially applies to my husband. Trying to get him to sit still for long is like trying to peel a grape. He's a slippery bugger.

This week, however, we've had all the down time we can handle. Thank God for the project of writing out Christmas cards! Even that task was almost too strenuous for me -- seriously -- but it had to be done, and it kept my mind and hands busy while I rested.

Miss Peaches and I have spent the last I-don't-even-know-how-many nights sleeping in the chair by the twinkly lights of the Christmas tree, and despite the aches and swollen glands, even this has been special.

So, even for these icky sick days, I can be thankful for the quiet time together it affords us.

But you can be sure, on the day we are all feeling 100% again, I will be even more thankful... I'm ready to bust out of this joint! The spirit is willing, but the body... Not quite yet. Please pray we are better soon!

Ahhhhh..........I hope you do get feeling better.
It's so great that you see the good in all things. I bet your twinkling lights are beautiful.

Merry Christmas to all of you!
