Thirty-One Days of Thankful: Family Man
December 2, 2011
To say I'm 'thankful' for my husband would be such an understatement. I don't know where the words lie to describe what he means to me, if there are even words for such emotions. I'm not going to tell you he's the 'best husband in the world'. There is no such man. What I will tell you is: he's the very best husband for me.
And if there were a list of the best husbands in the world, he'd be on it.
Here are the top ten reasons why Mr. Blue Eyes ranks right up there as one of the best daddios in the world...
1. A nightly rotation of...
a. Hide-and-seek
b. Wrestling
c. Tag
d. Outdoor excursions
e. Going down to our labyrinth of a basement to play with the random toys that have been banished from the upstairs.
2. Four-wheeler rides...
3. Nightly prayer, Bible stories, and songs.
(it should be noted... he's not really a 'singer', per se)
(he doesn't love to read all that much either)
4. Not afraid to change a diaper, get up during the night, or clean up puke.
5. Chief bath giver.
6. The other night I ran to town, and when I got home I noticed our bed was all messed up. When I asked him why, he simply said, "We were playing Sleeping Beauty."
Oh, of course you were.
7. Wants to be home with his family over anywhere else.
8. Dances to Footloose with Miss Peaches.
(here I should also note he's not a 'dancer', per se)
(the guy's got heart and soul, but not necessarily rhythm or perfect pitch)
9. Shows our children what it looks like for a man to love God.
10. Shows our children what it looks like for a man to love his wife.
