Thirty-One Days of Thankful: Bedtime Stories

I love bedtime.

I love it for so many reasons.

One, the most obvious, is that it's a prelude to sleeping.

I love sleeping.

Adore it, really.

Another reason is our bedtime routine. It's pretty standard... Putting on p.j.'s, brushing teeth and whatnot. Mr. Blue Eyes' usually reads the kids a Bible story. Then, Miss Peaches and I settle into our bed, and read for awhile. Sometimes I read to her, but usuall I don't. I read stories to the kids throughout the day, so at bedtime, since it's my wind-down time too, usually I read my book or magazine, and she 'reads' hers. By 'read', I mean she recites the story, as she remembers it being read to her, which is usually incredibly accurate. Sometimes Little Blue Eyes and Mr. Blue Eyes join us; sometimes they don't.

Here's last night's rendition of The Cow Went Over the Mountain (which is not accurate, because we've only read this story a time or two, but listening to her tell the story by looking at what was going on in each picture was very interesting!)

(Sorry, the video quality is poor... But it still captures the moment for me!)
