They Have This Fight Every Year

The horses. Really. They have this same fight every year.

You'd think they would learn from their past experiences, but they don't.

It starts out pretty low key, like this...

Drifter: Do you think it's safe to venture out on these icy roads?

Mo: I'm sure it's fine. With all the traffic, they probably aren't that icy.

Drifter (getting a big peevish): The grass is icy. The gravel is icy. The whiskers on my chin are icy. Why do you think that the roads wouldn't be icy? And why do you think it's a good idea to go out on these roads when we don't absolutely have to?

And then it escalates quite quickly...

Drifter: Here we go again! Another winter of you not listening to me about the road conditions, and you're going to argue with me about it, and then about halfway through the winter you're going to tell me that I'm right. But you always have to fight with me about it first.

(Drifter tends to get a little agitated about the fact that they do, in fact, have this arguement every year. It's a touchy subject.)

Mo: Well, I don't want to have to stay home ALL winter.

This sends Drifter into orbit...

Drifter: Did I SAY that we had to stay home all winter long?

Then he storms off in a fit of rage.

Burley, the peace keeper that he is, tries to step in and 'help'.

Drifter: You wanna piece of me, little dog?

Burley: Um, no. I do not wanna piece of you.

(Does anyone else get really dizzy when they look at this photo?)

Anyhow, after a bit more rage...

...and a bit more ugliness...

...they finally work out their issues, and once again begin moving in sync...

I'm just really thankful that I can only be an innocent by-stander, looking on and documenting the process.

I would never behave like such an animal.

OK, that is a great post. I don't think I could have been an innocent bystander. The horse teeth thing was a little scary looking.
