The Women - Part Two
May 12, 2011
Today I've been thinking a bit...
Thinking about the many women in my life that are such blessings to me.
Awhile back I wrote about some of these women. How I love them. How thankful to God I am for them. How they save me.
Today, I was struck -- smack in the head -- by the fact that there are even more women, in my life now, who are blessings as well.
Blessings, upon blessings, upon blessings.
I'm in awe of how God can put just the right person in your path, right in the moment you need them. Before I go on, let me climb up on my pulpit for just a second... If you are searching to have someone in your life, a man or a woman, who can be a blessing to you -- a comfort, a confidant, an accountability partner, or simply a compassionate friend -- open your heart to going to church, and accepting the blessing of fellowship that God has given us.
I can't tell you how those we have encountered in our church families (both here and when we were in Colorado) have been a complete blessing to us. (Am I using the word blessing enough for you?) Our church families have been our rock in times of storm. They have given us wise council, encouragement, compassion, and most importantly... Prayer.
God's gift of fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ is not to be overlooked. I truly believe that our brothers and sisters in Christ are God's arms here on earth, reaching out to pull us into His embrace. And God's gift of fellowship is for YOU. It is a gift to all of His children. Take it.
Okay, I'll climb down off my pulpit now.
Back to the women.
I like men too, but today we're talking about the women.
Today I was thinking about a particular handful of women who have touched my life lately. I'm somewhat tempted to give you a run-down of each and what it is I love about them, but I've decided not to go there. It's so personal. I'm just going to say a little prayer instead, that they know who they are, and that they know what they mean to me.
I do want to take a moment, however, to note the passing of one special woman... Sarah, of Spruce Hill Farm. Sarah bravely blogged as she endured her battle with breast cancer. She shared beautiful photos and sentiments about life. Sarah, she's rejoicing in heaven even as I write. But say a little prayer for Sarah's family, okay?
Never underestimate the power of prayer.
And that leads me to the second woman I would like to mention... Julie, of Another Chance Ranch. If you want to know all about Julie, visit her blog. She'll tell you all you need to know! But I will tell you a couple things... Julie is very open, honest, brave, and funny! This is why I love visiting her blog. But more than that, Julie has inspired me to do something.
She hosts a prayer list on her site.
And I'm going to follow her example and start one here on my site as well.
Prayer is just too important, and too powerful, to not let it take a front row seat in anything we do in life. And that includes this little old blog.
So, thank you, to the 'women'. I love ya' more'n my luggage.
Thank you to Sarah. Thank you for fighting. Thank you for sharing. Thank you for shining. When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing it will be!
And thank you to Julie. Thank you for being an inspiration in so many ways.

Faith,
Sisterhood
