The Harsh Realities of a Minnesota Winter
February 25, 2010
Winter in Minnesota can be a lot of things... Beautiful. Deeply, bone-chillingly cold. Dangerously cold. Long. Harsh. Frigid.
Getting out to do physical activities and keeping the love handles at bay becomes increasingly difficult and undesireable.
Indulging in comfort foods like blackberry cobbler...
...and creamy potato & leek chowder...
...becomes increasingly more tempting.
Today, however, I managed to drop a couple pounds in less than a half hour.
How?
I......

Shaved my legs.

Hahahaha! I can relate! ; )
how will you stay warm now?
I am catching a chill, now that you mention it.
I tend to go quite long spells in the winter without shaving...poor Husband! Thanks for stopping by my blog today--always nice to "meet" another Minnesotan!
OK, that's enough!!!! I'm used to your posts being sorta normal...calm.
I'm sitting in my photography class tonight, NOT paying attention to the instructor (if he slaps his head one more time and announces "senior moment" I'm gonna have an episode!)
Anyway, I'm sitting in class on my droid, surfing the net and I eagerly am reading your post!
EXCUSE ME! I snorted! IN CLASS! Do you know how embarassed I am?
Shaved your legs? How could I not laugh?
I hope you know that the entire photography class now knows the day you shaved your legs!
Warn me next time will ya?
(PS LOVED IT!)
Stumbled on your site this morning via the Pioneer Woman comments..."farmergal" jumped out at me. Noticed from this post that you are a fellow Minnesotan and thought I'd drop a note. My husband and I also grew up on farms in MN and are now living in the country on a hobby farm. I started to blog about a month ago about our adventures, but still figuring it all out. I love all things farm and country related, so I look forward to looking through your blog more.
HAHA LOL.... poor Derwood!
I think you've got the comfort part down! It all sounds delightful on a cold day. :)
