The Cousins
August 11, 2011 the little cousins...
when they arrived, they came running down the road, and I died
out of sheer excitement
out of sheer joy
out of sheer verklemptedness
it was all I could do to keep myself from jubilant weeping
i was just so happy to see their beautiful little faces!
just look at this face.
don't you want to smooch those chubby cheeks all over?
but he hasn't seen me since he was a baby, so I thought it best keep my smooches to myself
the 'six pack' of faces...
i die all over again
it was so fun to see them!
so much more grown up than the last time
it was a special time
and what fun they had!
can you feel the fun in the air?
they played
they laughed
they cried
emotions ran high
miss peaches proved to be the most fiesty of the three red heads
had a bit of a hard time with all the excitement
got a little overwhelmed... and whiny... and ornery
tested her mamas nerves a bit
but after a little tough love and catching up on rest, we made it through
and hopefully learned what it is to have friends
since both my kids didn't want to leave, and keep talking about all their cousins...
i know they had an amazing time
and i hope it is something they will always remember, even if it is but a flicker in their hearts
kind of like the memories i have of growing up...
with these fine ladies

my two best friends
in the whole wide world
