Sleigh Bells Ring

I forgot to tell you about our family tree cutting expedition a couple of weeks ago.
Our little family...
...drove down the road...
...to a tree farm, and cut a Christmas tree...
It's not a complicated story.
Some of us were a little skeptical at first...
...but shortly thereafter decided that playing in the snow was great fun...
And shortly thereafter that, decided it was bitterly cold and it was time to head back to the truck...
Santa was there...
But I was informed that Santa was kind of thkaywee (scary) and we were not to go by him. So we went on a wagon ride instead.
As we drove away, with our tree in tow, I thought about what a lovely day it had been... A perfect little tree cutting adventure.
We dropped off our tree at home, then headed to town for groceries, where the following things happened...
1) I chipped a molar while eating at a restaurant.
2) I hit my head on the truck.
3) I dropped a bottle of sparkling grape juice in the check-out aisle at Wal-Mart, which shattered and splattered all over the floor.
4) Our tail gate fell down while we were driving home, and some of our groceries fell out the back. We determined the loss was croutons, two boxes of Cheerios, and some chicken. Mr. Blue Eyes went back and found the chicken. The other items are a loss. I can't help but think there's some squirrel out there enjoying our Fruity Cheerios.
5) Mr. Blue Eyes dropped another bottle of sparkling grape juice on our garage floor when we were bringing groceries in. Again... Shattered. Splattered.
At least the tree cutting was good.
Today I'm off to have the dentist take a look at my chipped tooth.
I'm not looking forward to it.
Please pray.

Holidays,
Slice of Life

Hey Laura! It's your niece, Heidi! So I read your blogs all the time and have yet to comment. So I am really just commenting to tell you that I read your great writings! I really do enjoy it, the stories, the pics, and your insights. It is a great way for me to take a break from the daily office grind and read something more pleasant and enjoyable than stuff about work.
So anyway......keep the great stuff coming! And I will see you soon at Kvistad Christmas.......or as Pete and I are going to start calling it....."Kvismas". (pronounced Kwis-mas) - LOL!
Love, Heidi
Oh my gosh! I'm glad you at least had a sweet trip to the tree farm, cause it sounds kinda hairy after that. :)
We once dropped a bag of baby food in glass jars at the walmart check-out, which was food and glass shattered everywhere. Not a good situation. I am glad the tree expedition can be remebered as enjoyable for you. Looks like the kids had fun. Merry Christmas.
Wow, sounds like quite the adventure! Glad everything turned out in the end and everyone had fun. Have a wonderful Christmas weekend! :)
our kiddos love looking at pics of your kiddos! looks like a winter wonderland!
What a wonderful tree excursion! (I won't mention the subsequent dramas hehe).
Hoping that you and your family had a wonderful Christmas together.
