Since Last Friday
November 24, 2011
Since I posted last Friday, we have...
1. Had our first snowfall of the season.
2. Hosted some friends and their sweet kiddos over for an impromptu supper.
3. Made a trip, also impromptu, to the emergency room. For me. I'm fine. It's a matter of -- ahem -- a 'delicate' nature. If I write about it, my brother will stop reading my blog. Again.
4. Made arrangements to go to Little Blue Eyes' first pre-school student-teacher conference, for which I wrote down the wrong day, and thus showed up a day late, only to find the school locked up and dark.
5. Awoke to two feverish children, which in turn developed into stomach flu, high fevers, and a sleepless night.
6. Endured a nasty migraine that didn't respond to pain killers. Me. Last night. (At this point I'd like to make a big fart sound with my mouth, but I'm not sure how you type that.)
7. Watched Curious George: Follow That Monkey! five times in 24 hours. (A direct result of the stomach flu situation... Sickness equals cartoon marathons in our house.)
8. Wrangled our wiley horses, who escaped this morning and took a little stroll over to the neighbors' house.
9. Played outside today, because it was an amazingly beautiful day.
10. Bravely navigated cooking up Thanksgiving dinner today. (Mr. Blue Eyes, not me. After the week we've had, I just wasn't up for it, but he forged on.) It wasn't half bad, but a little odd. But I was thankful for it. And him. And our children. Who can now keep down solid food. Which I'm also thankful for.
11. Discovered that bacon and turkey go together quite well. Upon my urging, Mr. Blue Eyes draped a few pieces over the turkey, and we were quite pleased. We've decided to call it 'Turbacon'.
12. Attempted to do a little online shopping, which was lovely until this evening, when one of the websites I'm ready to make a purchase from -- the largest of all my purchases -- started being bucky because they are overloaded with customers. I thought I was being all smart and savvy by avoiding Black Friday, but it's just not turning out like I thought it would.
Kind of like the entire preceeding week.
I'm off to battle the cyber shopping lines now. Wish me luck!

It sounds like your Thanksgiving was just right.
Sorry about the snow. I'm not ready for it, but maybe I'll take it over the cold cold cold.
The pictures of the kids are so cute. I can't believe they are growing so fast! How does that happen?
I think I've been hanging around since Miss Peaches was a puppy! She'll be driving before next week!!!!!
Cyber shopping doesn't even sound fun. I must have a case of the grinches. I need to get over it.
