Reunited and It Feels So Good

I have to admit, my week without a computer (if you don't count the few times I snuck over the neighbors and briefly hijacked theirs) was kind of refreshing. Since I was deep into packing mode for our preliminary move to MN this weekend (tomorrow morning, actually... eeeek!) it was good to not have my laptop sitting there, beckoning me to come push its buttons. It made it just a bit easier to focus on the tasks as hand.

That said, oooohhhhhh, does it feel good to be back together again. And not just to be back together, but to know that all of my precious data -- the data that I had not backed up but will be doing soon -- is all still there. For the most part, things seem to be functioning just as before, with a few small changes here and there that really don't amount to anything or even make it better. And it's actually faster! Let me tell you, if I could kiss those computer dudes in a non-romantic but thankful way without offending my husband or coming off as a loon, I think I would. They're the bomb.

At the risk of leaving you yet another teaser post about how I just can't seem to get my act together enough to regale the PW/Smitten Kitchen trip, I'm afraid that I'm just going to have to... Leave you another teaser post about how I just can't seem to get my act together enough to regale the PW/Smitten Kitchen trip.

I can feel you mentally beating me with a paddle.

And by coincidence, that's what PW wanted to do when she heard that we drove all the way from Colorado/Nebraska just to see her and Deb (a.k.a. Smitten Kitchen, the 'pioneer woman' in her own right of cooking in a miniscule New York kitchen.)

Here's my excuse... If we can drag our sorry tails of bed as we have planned, we're going to be getting up at 4 a.m. (-ish), loading horses and babies, and hitting the dusty trail (i.e. the interstate). Between now and then I have to bathe children, finish some minor packing tasks, bathe myself, have a minor meltdown, recover, and then calm myself enough to get some MUCH needed sleep.

I'm not generally a person who goes on and on about how busy they are, but I am. I'm busy. And I'm tired. And I'm pretty sure you don't really stop in here to listen to me whine about either one, so I shant subject you to it any longer.

I'm considerate like that.

I'm glad your computer is back...but I totally relate to the hmmm......would it be a bad thing if I was without it for a few days? ;) I think it might teach me a little about time management! I am not a back up girl either and I'm panicking about it, but making plans. Luckily, all of my good photos are on picasa web albums and I don't even have Microsoft word so I have no documents on here.
Good luck w/your move and sleep....we'll be thinking of you!

I hope things settle down for you soon, I hope your move goes well, and I'm glad your computer is back. If you do get a minute to yourself, you've been tagged!

Well, I'll try to get over the fact that I'm dying to hear about your adventures, the paddle I'm gonna beat you with is a feather one! HOWEVER, that said, I so totally understand. I've had more weeks like you are having than I care to remember. Just drive safely, enjoy your meltdown, get some sleep and enjoy the journey. Take lots of pictures along the way. Bye bye Colorado............

Take care and HUGS to you!
