Pumpkin Palooza 2010

I just have to say...

...having kids that are just getting old enough to participate in holiday activities is a lot of fun.

Sure, babies are soft and precious and caring for them is a beautiful thing.

But babies don't reach up to their shoulder into a pumpkin and pull out a wad of 'cumpkin poober'.

(Pumpkin goober.)

That's its own special kind of fun.

I even got the night off from 'photographer duty' to lose myself in artistic expression, pumpkin-carving style. And look at all these creative shots Mr. Blue Eyes came up with(!)...

He was so proud. Who knew we were all so artsy fartsy?

(Sorry the pictures are all so flashy and not very well edited, if you're the type to notice that sort of thing. I borrowed my sister's camera, with a flash, since my flash is broken, and I knew we would be doing this at night. We're approaching our shortest days of the year (well, the days are the same length of 24 hours, but the sunlight is less!) so I'm forced to enter the land of flash photography if I want to capture some of these fun moments.)

Our final products...

I'm thinking of submitting them to The Louvre.
