Poor Little Punkins Are We
October 18, 2011
We're a bit downtrodden around here lately... Sinus infection central. Blah!
Today I'm finally saying, "Uncle," and going to the doctor. Three weeks fighting it off is starting to wear me down. I'm getting to the point where all I want to do is sleep all day, and that just won't work for this mama. Lounging on the couch while looking around at all the little projects that need to be done drives me about bonkers.
Bonk. Kers.
Bonkalammadingdong.
Badonkadonkabonkers.
Can't you just sense the bonkeredness?
This morning, on the phone, Mr. Blue Eyes told me he's sending in home health care, of the 3 and 4 year old variety.
I'm in good hands.
Little hands, but good hands.
And then there's Burles...
He has a bum paw. Just ask him. He will show you.
He will also show you his 'Sad Burley' face. I sympathetically say, "Oh, Burley. Poooor Burley." And he does this...
Ears low, eyes closed. For a vermin-killing machine, he's a very sensitive soul.
We're not sure what is going on. Thinking it's an injury, sustained on one of his many farm adventures. He still has a good appetite and is wagging his tail. Mr. Blue said he seemed a bit more perky this morning, so we're just going to give it a few days.
Oh, Burley. Poooor Burley.
We had to cover up the pumpkins and squashes that are out on the stoop last night. As the radio DJ said this morning, "It's crisp. 'Crisp' is the word we like to use when we don't want to admit that it's cold."
It's crisp.
It's borderline cold.
It's definitely a lot colder than it was a couple weeks ago.
I'm okay with that.
I don't know if it's because I'm actually looking forward to winter, or it's because I have no choice, but either way... I'm okay with that.
I'm going to now make a brave attempt at getting something done around here -- I don't even know what... laundry or bathing my children, maybe -- without getting too winded. I need some sort of productivity -- of the homemaking variety, not the phelgm producing variety -- to make me feel better about the state of things around here.
Or wait. You know what... Never mind.
Just typing that sentence was exhausting.
Do you think I can convince my kids to take a nap with me at 9:45 a.m.?
Dogs,
Health & Wellness

I need to give him a love.............poor baby!
I can just see that he totally works it.
HILARIOUS!
Hope the punkin's survive the cold. I finally clean out the last of everything yesterday......except the carrots.
Still need to address that issue.
Hope that you are feeling better girl. Enjoy your gorgeous autumn before everything is a sea of white again.
