O Snap

The cold snap was a little bit brutal on our pumpkin/squash patch. Thank heavens we covered up some areas, because the areas that weren't covered pretty much shriveled up into oblivion. We covered the areas that had the most edible pumpkins and squash, and I think they're going to survive, but I'm still a little skeptical. Time will tell.

Tonight... Fighting the urge to climb into bed right this second. It was a tiring day, and I didn't get done with nearly half the things I wanted to.

I wanted to make an apple pie.

I didn't.

I wanted to get a leg up on the laundry piles.

I didn't.

I wanted to make sloppy joe's for tomorrow.

I didn't.

I wanted to run to town to get groceries.

I didn't.

I wanted to make the kids scarecrow outfits for a kiddie parade they're going to be in tomorrow.

I didn't.

I wanted to make salsa.

I didn't.

Are we sensing a theme here?

O snap!

I was busy all day, yet there was so much that didn't get done! How does that happen?

But the hours of this day are dwindling, and tomorrow is plum full of promise, and that is where my focus lies.

My lovely lovely husband is picking up the house after his own long day of work. I think that deserves a smooch, don't you? And a cuddle. And a snuggle. And maybe we can slip under the covers and...

Sleep.

Glorious, glorious sleep.

Blankies and pillow, here I come...

Yikes! I'm not ready for a freeze!
I'm just barely picking enough tomatoes to sneeze at!

Those punkins' look sorta sad all nekked without their leaves.

Now watch it warm all up for another month or two.

I canned green beans today and have some shredded zucchini soaking in brine to make zucchini relish.
I really would love to see pictures of all your lovely canning creations.

Have a great day tomorrow and realize that it's all OK if you don't get it all done.

The only thing you gotta do right now .......

SNUGGLE!
