Now why don't she write?
September 20, 2010 I would've written over the weekend, but I had to work at my very part-time gig in a shoe store, along with some other goings-on. I'm happy and sad to say that Saturday was my last day at the shoe store. Since I now have more daycare kids, I just don't have time for it. I need my Saturdays and Sundays to catch up, re-coop, and spend time with my family. Plain and simple. So I'm happy to be done with it. On a sad note, however, I had to hand in my discount card before I left. I shed a tear as I walked out the door. That discount card and I had some good times together. Some good times.
And then today, along with the usual childcare routine, there was this...

The toys. They needed a bit of organization.
I took all of this...

...and sorted them into these...

...and I felt a little better about my world.
Most of the time, we just try to keep them all in the baskets, sans organization. If they've landed in a basket and aren't cluttering the floor, I'm happy. But once a week or so, I go through them all and organize them into Little Blue Eyes' and Miss Peaches' own baskets, as well as a basket for the baby-friendly toys, and a couple baskets and shelves of books.
Every once in awhile I even go so far as to organize all of Miss Peaches cooking toys into her cooking cupboard, but that's only if I'm feeling really ambitious.
Please, please, don't be jealous of the glamorous life I lead.
Then there was the laundry.
The laundry... has taken on... a strange transformation. Most of the clothes are clean, yet I can't find anything. It's all in random piles around the house (mostly covering our entire bedroom). The kids' clothes are intermingled with one another. The kids' clothes are intermingled with our clothes. Mr. Blue Eyes clothes are intermingled with mine. So, it's clean, but it's almost impossible to find an outfit that matches in under ten minutes.
It's anarchy, man.
I can't handle it.
So, I've been tackling that massive project today as well. I told myself that I simply needed to get a jumpstart on the household tasks before I would sit down and write.
And now, I must continue on.
More clothes to be folded.
Supper to make.
Pumpkins and squash to pick in the garden.
Oh yeah, and I picked up two stray black labs the other day that I should go play with.
More on that tomorrow.

Black labs? What?? LOL
It must be something in the air! The last two days I have been in that "organizational mood" or it could be called "nesting." Got all the baby stuff washed, folded and ready. Carseat, bassinet and bedside baby bed cleaned, sheeted and ready. My hubby sweetly helped me go through the attic looking for baby stuff. He did roll his eyes and laugh at me a bit, but he did help! It's a good feeling to have it all done!
The laundry situation sounds very familiar--took all day to sort, and it's almost all done!
Two stray labs?? Can't wait to hear the story about them.
How many daycare kids do you have?
Sounds like a lot of work at the farmergalsmarket.
Two black labs?
Cuz you're bored right?
Organizing feels so good! Can't wait to hear about the black labs...
I'm just glad you aren't an arrow-riddled corpse on the South Dakota plains being looked over by a foul-mannered mule skinner.... like your title implied :)
Yes, TWO black labs.
Tauna - How many daycare kids? Just enough and not quite too many.
Marigold - I can always count on you to know what movie/song a line is from!
