No one ever prepares you...
October 13, 2010 ...for this...

And this...

And this...
Children, growing up.
Without your permission.
I have nieces who happen to be the same age as me. I've mentioned them... Marigold and Sunflower.
(Not their real names.)
(To understand why I have come to name them after flowers, click here.)
Their children happen to be roughly the same ages as my children.
So their children are my 'great' nieces and nephew. Or is it 'grand'?
I know... It's confusing.
When I moved away from Colorado (where we were much closer to them) and back to Minnesota, we made a solemn pact that they were not allowed to grow up.
I may have been the only one who was aware of this pact.
Which is why I shouldn't be surprised that it has been...
Broken.
Now that I've hopped on the Facebook bandwagon, I see more pictures of them than I have in the last couple years. And when I see these pictures, the only sound in the room is that of my jaw hitting the computer keyboard.
They're becoming little people!
Again, without my permission.
How can I stop this? Who do I need to talk to?
