Last week, Miss Peaches developed a little cold. A couple days ago, Mr. Blue Eyes awoke with a bit of the stomach flu. Yesterday I awoke with a bit of stomach flu and Little Blue Eyes got the cold, slightly worse than his sister did, and last night I caught the cold too.
After a restless night, we're not the best lookin' bunch today, that's for sure.
The only good thing that came of me being out of commission for a day was that I got to spend a TON of time working on my site... Most of it was just learning and thinking and pondering and researching, but it helped me narrow down my focus a bit.
I realized that: 1) I love redesigning my site; 2) I hate redesigning my site.
I am looking forward to having things look just as I want them to, but it will be nice to simply get back to taking pictures and writing.
Despite dire and debilitating illness (or slight congestion and sinus pressure... whatever), today must be a day of housewifely duties. The delicate ecosystem of our household depends on it. The kids have completely stopped trying to resist the temptation of taking ornaments off the tree, and it's already overdue, so that project is job #1.
Beyond that and the usual cooking and cleaning, who knows what wild and crazy projects I might dive into? Tackling the mounds of hand-me-down kids' clothes that need to be organized? Finally going through the mountain of toys and packing some away? Painting my nose red and pretending to be Rudolph?
Just seeing if you were paying attention.
It's a luxurious life I lead around here, folks. I can see why you stop in to read about it.
I am so thankful, however, that I'm here at home with my children and am able to take care of the things we have been blessed with. (Especially since we're currently living in Siberia-like conditions.)
One last note: Welcome to the world, baby-girl-soon-to-be-Nebraska-ranch-princess! You sure picked a frigid day to come into the world, but the good news is that it can really only get warmer from here.
