Monumental Things
November 9, 2011
It's been a day full of monumental events around here.
First of all, Miss Peaches. If you ask her (or even if you don't ask her... evidently she announced this to her early childhood class last night) she will tell you that she had a baby in her belly. He has since come out and his name is Galper.
Or Gulper.
I'm not sure how she spells it.
We'll go with Gulper.

She will also tell you that when he came out it was like a balloon that was squirting, then she makes a squishing sound with her mouth. I'm struck by how accurate her depiction of birth is, particularly since, to my knowledge, no one has ever described to her the realities of the birthing process.
Her womanly intuition must be at work.
I had to do daycare for Gulper the other day while Miss Peaches was off visiting my sister for the day. What an easy and pleasing baby he was to take care of. I didn't hear a peep out of him all day.

The other big deal is that we got a new coffee maker, as our old one worked, but would randomly spew water out the bottom from time to time. I took the new one out of the box and put it to good use this morning, which prompted me to rethink the placement of the coffee maker on our countertop, which prompted me to relocate all the coffee cups to be near the new location of the coffee pot, which was in the current vitamin cupboard, which meant I had to switch the vitamins to the former coffee cup cupboard.
Did you get all that?
For some reason I feel all warm and fuzzy inside when I reach new heights of organization.
Between that and snuggling imaginary baby Gulper, it's a very warm and fuzzy day.
Update: I was just informed that there are now two babies named Gulper and one baby named Angie. She also has an imaginary friend, Braisa, with purple hair, who used to be a baby but now she's a little girl.
Try to keep up, people.

In other news, Little Blue Eyes finished his latest invention...

In his own words, "It's called the XX Eleventeen Nineteen. It pushes out juice and milk. It's a drink shooter! It makes milk, juice, and hose water."
"Hose water?"
"Yeah, hose water! Hose water's the most delicious drink in the world! You know, like from the hose, outside? Me and Dad drink it in the summer. You should try it sometime!"
Just another monumentally normal day around here.
I wonder if Gulper likes hose water.
Little Blue Eyes,
Miscellaneous,
Miss Peaches

That is a brilliant little man you have there!
Yikes........sounds like you might need to have the "talk" with Peaches before you have 20 and counting or something. I'm not sure how many Gulphas you can handle, you are already so busy.
Organizing?
Stop!
I'm feeling guilty.
Caught up on your posts now, I love your openness and vulnerability, and I love Miss Peaches and one day I shall have to meet Gulper! ;)
Am most impressed with how you have taken grandparenthood in your stride. Hoping that there will be many happy family get togethers to come :-)
Cate - Was so confused... Grandparenthood? What?
Then I looked back and realized... Gulper.
I was much more at peace with Gulper's 'imaginary' presence before I realized he made me an 'imaginary' grandmother! I'm not ready for that!
