It was an interesting couple of days...

Yes, we DID get another round of severe thunderstorms yesterday.

And yes, we DID go down into the basement once again.

This morning, Little Blue Eyes mentioned that we would go hang out in the basement again tonight. He thinks it's just something we do now. Thankfully, we've got a forecast of blue skies for the next few days, so our family basement fun will have to wait.

I tried to snap a few photos yesterday, although I don't know that I came up with anything too spectacular, because the view was mostly just dark. Ominous. Threatening.

This picture doesn't depict the darkness. This was the beginning of the storm, when the clouds were just starting to blossom over us. After this, it got darker. Almost like night. I didn't take pictures, because there were no good pictures to be had! Not for me and my amateur photography skills, anyway.

There was also this...

Green. Weird. Surreal.

This picture was not photoshopped to make things look such a strange green hue. None of these pictures were photoshopped. There was just some funky stuff going on in the atmosphere last night!

Thankfully, the greening was at the tail end of the storm, just as the sunset was beginning to glisten on all the wet foliage.

And one more. This...

There's just nothing bad about a rainbow, always there to tell you the storm has passed.

Burley came in the house once again for the duration of the storm. When I saw him sticking his head under our bed, I thought we were in trouble for sure.

"What is it, boy? What are you trying to tell us?"

(I like to pretend I'm Timmy to his Lassie.)

Then I realized that Charlotte, the cat, was under the bed, and he was non-chalantly stalking her, as has become his custom. (Charlotte also lives in a world where something dark, ominous and threatening hovers above her. Luckily for her, she seems to be oblivious to his presence.)

Anyhow... 24 paws, 8 hooves, 8 hands and 8 feet all accounted for here on our little farm. Praise the Lord. And praise the Lord for a little family basement fun. ;)

Those pictures are so unreal!!!! I've never seen anything like that. I think maybe you need to move to Idaho. All we get is 10 months of cold. It's awesome.
Love your descriptions of the weather and the color.
It needs to be done now.

The boys and I hid in the unfinished basement during that storm. They thought it was pretty cool, since we never go down there. Thankfully fruit snacks and old Mickey Mouse cartoons on Youtube kept them distracted. I brought down some candy corn for me...bad idea, one tends to eat hand over fist on those things when nervous, ya know?
