Five Good Things About Getting the Stomach Flu

1. Catching up on back episodes of Flying Wild Alaska. Man, that is a thrilling show! Have you seen it? You must! It almost makes me want to overcome my fear of flying and become a bush pilot. Almost.

Not really.

But let's pretend it does.

It also makes me want to start wearing Carhartts again, like I always did in Colorado. I love a good pair of Carhartts.

2. Losing a couple pounds.

This helps me with my goal of getting into my old Carhartts.

3. Having time to spend with your husband and kids where you lie around and do absolutely nothing. (Except, ahem, certain bodily functions related to the stomach flu.) It's a sad statement, but the only time we power down enough to do nothing is when one or more of us are sick.

4. Appreciating how good it feels to not have the stomach flu once it's all over.

5. The freedom to walk around in your p.j.'s all day, because everyone knows you have stomach flu, so you know they're not gonna c'mon'a your house.

This brings me to another point about Carhartts... In Colorado, I would spend the entire winter, at the resort, in my long johns, underneath my Carhartt bibs. This was the most perfect pairing of pajamas, Carhartts and warmth I have ever experienced in my life.

It almost makes me excited for winter.

Almost.

Not really.

And let's not even pretend that it does.
