Cry Cry ('Til the Sun Shines)

I've been trying not to complain about being sick. About being dog tired. About having a million things to get done and the energy to do none.

I've stayed away from writing this week, just so that I wouldn't drag you all down into the perverbial mud pit with me. I kept telling myself that you don't want to come here and read about how pitiful I feel. I had nothing good to say.

And it's not because there's nothing good in my life... That's not it.

It's that I had nothing to say about it... The good stuff. I was too preoccupied with feeling like a turd in a bucket.

And how does a turd in a bucket feel? Not good, people. Not good.

Alone.

Stinky.

Without a home or a moral compass.

That's how a turd in a bucket feels.

Anyhow, in my wallowing I realized something... We bloggers -- or at least a big portion of us -- are gushers. We're lovers, not fighters. We seek beauty and light and health and laughter and spirituality and good will towards men. We like to share it with everyone else. We like to read other people's musings on it and then leave comments.

This is not necessarily a bad thing. I mean, I think it's good to look for the positive and see the beauty in this world.

However.

Life ain't always beautiful.

Sometimes it can get ugly.

Like phlegm.

Like dog turds left behind after all the pretty snow melted.

Like dogs eating horse poop and then puking it up again.

Like being so congested that your nose was completely suctioned shut.

Like wiping your daughter's boogers from her poor little nose more times than you want to count.

Like weaning your children off of popcicles and Sprite for breakfast.

Like finding a disturbing amount of mouse poop in your basement.

Like stopping in to read someone's blog and being told about the ugliness of the world.

Sorry.

Except I'm not sorry. As much as I love to share all the things I love, it's important to talk about the bad times too. We're all human. We all suffer. Even if it isn't the worst thing in the world, it certainly isn't the best either, and it's still hard, and relating to one another about these things helps us through.

Through to the other side.

Through to the place where the sun shines.

Tomorrow I'll be back with something much more upbeat, I promise. I've got something fun to write about, thanks to my blogger friend, Tauna. That sun is poking its head out already!

p.s. The title of this post is a Martina McBride song, by the way. It's been running through my head all day.

Feel better soon, but don't over do it!

Make sure you drink lots of liquids and sit in a steaming bathroom to help relieve your congestion.

Do I sound like my mom yet?

I am sorry to hear how sick you have been. I sure understand how tough it is to blog when things are sucky and/or you don't feel good. Hot tea with lemon and honey always makes me feel better when I have a cold. Feel better soon!

Minnesota or Idaho...baby we got pretty much the same weather. UGH!
Ya, I've had two dogs as residents in my back yard....along with the snow....and now there's a thaw...you get the picture.
All isn't a silver lining at the Garden of Egan either.
Speaking of cold and snot, I think I caught yours.
