A Time to Listen

Mr. Blue Eyes and I are on different wavelengths today. He was bound and determined to mow the lawn and tackle a bunch of other outdoor projects. I tried to convince him to take a nap with me.

Since I was turned down and the kids are asleep, I decided to snuggle up in the chair with a blankie, heating pad, and my laptop. I tried to convince Henry to nestle in with me, but Mr. Blue Eyes prodded him outside to assist in his manly endeavors instead. My men folk have up and left me.

Does anyone mind if I start singing All By Myself right now?

It's not so much that I mind being alone, as that I want a hot chocolate, and Mr. Blue Eyes isn't here to make it for me.

And it's always better when he makes it.

But I am forcing myself to rest today. For the moment, anyway. Even tinkering around here on the internet is more than I really should be doing, because my mind needs quiet.

As in, no web surfing.

As in, no looking (and drooling) over the Nikon D7000. (And don't even get me started on the D3.)

As in, no photo editing.

As in, no writing.

As in, I should close down the laptop right here and now.

But, before I do, I just wanted to tell you... in the interest of giving my mind some quiet time... some time to settle... some time to listen to God... some time to refocus some things that are a little out of focus... some time to let the creative juices replenish themselves...

I'm going to take a break from Photo of the Week and Tutorial Tuesday this week. And I may post a little less than usual.

I'll still be around and nothing is wrong. But I'm feeling a little nudge to go inward and just be restful. In a good way.

I know what you mean...the nap, it was first on the agenda today after lunch! And again, I know what you mean, that's why I haven't posted on my blog or FB lately...I need a "break." Hope you find the peace and needed rest!
