A tub for tea. A tub for three.
January 10, 2009 I'm feeling kind of 'Seussical' today.
Last night we exercised the epitomy of efficiency in regards to water conservation. First of all, my wonderufl husband made me a hot, hot, hot cup of tea. Then I ran myself a hot, hot, hot tub. Then I soaked in it for awhile, while sipping my tea. It was a nice soak.
Was it peaceful and relaxing? No, not necessarily. No sooner had I slipped into the steamy bubbles than Little Blue Eyes peeked around the corner and flashed me a toothy grin. As far as he's concerned, the tub is his domain, so he had to come check things out. Soon the whole family was hanging out with me. But that was o.k.
After I kicked back for awhile, I ran a little cold water to cool down my hot, hot, hot tub, and Little Blue Eyes joined me. He was a little punchy from a early evening nap (those always leave me a little punchy too) so it was a quick wash... Scrub, scrub, scrub, cry, wash hair, rinse, cry, cry, cry. Without a doubt, he was on the edge of himself and ready for bed.
Next, I cooled down the water a bit more and traded out Little Blue Eyes for Miss Peaches. She was in a much more perky mood and peacefully enjoyed a little floating time. She likes to have me hold her shoulders while the rest of her body buoys in the warm water. Sometimes she likes to kick her legs, sometimes just float. Little Blue Eyes liked to do this too when he was her age.
After Miss Peaches was all clean and relaxed and bored with perfecting her float technique, my wonderful husband removed her for pajama insertion and I completed phase 4 of the process... Shaving my legs. It was a full moon, so I figured it was time.
Why is this interesting? I don't know. Maybe it's not. But it's always fun to share how we go about our days... The little idiosyncrasies that make up our lives. I'm trying to come up with a poem out of it...
A tub for tea.
A tub for three.
A tub for relaxing and splashing and scrubbing babies.
One baby in.
One baby out.
One baby making bubbles, the other a water spout.
Ummmm... Pretty weak. I'll have to work on that one.
