New Years Day - ree

While many people are starting off the new year cutting carbs and pumping iron in an exuberant effort to start off their weight loss resolution with a bang, I'm going somewhat the other direction... I'm spending my entire day watching a 'Private Practice' marathon and ingesting a LOT of dairy products.

I started off the day with egg nog. Then I had cereal with, of course, milk. But it was skim, so that really doesn't count.

For a morning snack I had a piece of cold pizza that was topped with about a 1/4 inch layer of mozzarella. Oh, and I dipped it in ranch dressing. Is that dairy? I'm pretty sure it is.

For lunch I had leftover chicken alfredo from last night. Then I finished off another glass of egg nog. But I mixed it half and half with skim milk, which almost makes it low fat, right?

And now I'm thinking about making creamy potato soup for supper. But I'm not sure I want to be that ambitious. It sure would end my day of dairy on a strong note though, wouldn't it?

I think I'm on my sixth episode or so of 'Private Practice' right now. And you know what? Good for me! I haven't had a day of complete down time in... Well, I don't remember when. It feels good. It feels great.

I feel sleepy. But I've got my babies to watch so napping is usually not on the agenda.

But you know what is on the agenda? Ice cream.
