The Joy of Eating
January 29, 2009 Bakerella, I am not. Joy the Baker, I am not. Farmer Gal the Taste Tester, yes I am.
Don't get me wrong, I like to bake. I think I do alright at it. But truth be told, I'm no expert, and going off the beaten path (the puns never end, do they?) and coming up with recipes for my own baked goods doesn't always result in something I feel inclined to share with all of you.
Take last night, when I got this wild hair to make brownies using white and milk chocolate, white and brown sugar, taking my own liberties in trying to come up with what I was looking for, what I was envisioning in my head, salivating over with my tastebuds. It didn't end well. It wasn't good in the middle of the whole process either... It bubbled out of my baking dish and created a smoky haze throughout our entire house. I mean, it was edible and not half bad, but it just wan't blog-worthy. I promise you only the best, or what I deem to be very good and something that I think you'll really enjoy. I can hit the mark with lots of foods, but baked goods... Let's just leave it to the experts, o.k.?
What I have decided to do, to contribute to the Home Cooking section of my blog, is search out recipes for baked goods from other people's blogs and test them out, then bring forth to you the ones that I think are really stellar with a link so that you can check them out yourself. If there's one thing my family and I are good at, it's eating stuff. So why not put that talent to good use?
Well, I'm off to search for the first little gem to take on my tastebud test drive. Wish me luck!
