Photo of the Week - Indian Summer (and a little announcement)
October 9, 2010
I feel that it is time. 'Tis time to bring back 'Photo of the Week'. The days are getting shorter. The creative juices have more time to flow, and we're looking down the barrel of a long winter where a photo sharing project might be just the ticket.
If you don't know what 'Photo of the Week' is, please click here, and then join me!
Even though, in my mind, I do know that winter is just around the corner... In my heart, I'm holding onto a hope that this indian summer we're experiencing will last forever. The warmth. The bold red sumacs. The glowing yellow maples. The bolting brown and barren branches. Such warmth. It is surreal. The sandals I put away in the closet are back out in circulation, and let me just tell you... The crunch of my favorite sandals on autumn leaves is quite simply a rare treat.
Even though 'Photo of the Week' is about choosing just one photo, can I share one more with you? To convey what I'm trying to... convey?

Ah, yes. Here we go. A visual.
And this brings to mind my little announcement! In addition to 'Photo of the Week', which will post on Sundays (but you can join in anytime throughout the week), I will also be starting a little project called 'Tutorial Tuesdays', where I share with you a little photography and/or photoshop elements tutorial! The first one, this Tuesday, will be on a little 'warm glow' effect that you may have noticed is all over my photos as of late like white on rice.
So, remember...
Sundays = Photo of the Week. Join in!
Tuesdays = Tutorial Tuesday. Learn somethin'! (maybe) And this week, the tutorial will be on achieving the 'warm glow' effect, using Photoshop Elements.
See you Tuesday!
